What is a Mobile Library?
The Mobile Library is a library on wheels that will make regularly scheduled stops throughout various locations inside the city limits of Myrtle Beach. The Mobile Library provides patrons with many of the services you would find at the main library - browse the shelves, pick up holds, join us at community events, participate in activities, get help with the digital library collection, and more.

Mobile Library Services
- Get a library card
- Check out books, audiobooks, and movies for all ages
- Request and pick up holds placed online or in person
- Return items originally borrowed from the main library
- Access to free Wi-Fi
- Assistance with digital library resources
- Free printing (up to 10 pages)
Borrowing Materials
All materials have a 30-day loan period. There are no late fees on materials checked out from the mobile library. Fees do apply for lost or damaged materials. These items must be replaced or paid for at the main library located at 400 14th Ave N, Myrtle Beach.
Patrons may place a hold on items to be picked up at the Mobile Library at a scheduled stop by either calling the main library, calling the Mobile Library, or using the library's online catalog. When placing a hold, select "Mobile Library" as the pickup location. Held items will be placed on the Mobile Library holds shelf. If not picked up by the hold expiration, materials will be returned to the main library.
Cancellations
In the event of inclement weather, vehicle maintenance, or other unforeseen circumstances, Mobile Library Staff will notify the regularly scheduled stop(s) of any cancellations (if applicable). Cancellations will be displayed on the Mobile Library schedule on this page and announced on the Chapin Memorial Library's Facebook page .
