Internet Access?????
Chapin Memorial Library provides public Internet access. Patrons that have a Chapin Memorial Library card are eligible to use the computer lab in the Reference Room located on the second floor of the library. Patrons under the age of 18 can use the labs in the YA or Juvenile sections. Our security system requires a card number and a PIN number to allow a patron to log on. If you do not remember the PIN number that was assigned to you when you registered, please ask a staff member at the circulation desk. They will assign a new number to you.
Chapin Memorial Library uses SAM® to manage our public computers. Our system will allow patrons to logon one time a day for up to 1 hour.
Patrons that wish to access the Internet for a short period of time and do not have a Chapin Memorial Library card, can obtain an Express Pass at the circulation desk. The Express Pass will allow the patron 15 minutes on the Internet and will automatically monitor the time for the patron. When the time expires, the system will warn the patron and return the workstation to the log in screen.
Visitor cards may be obtained at the Circulation desk. This card will allow patrons to use the computer lab and have full borrowing privileges in the library. The charge for this card is $8.00 for three months or $20.00 for one year.
Printing is allowed on all public workstations. The cost is $.10 a page -- PREPAID. Please see a staff member at the front desk to apply funds to your card.
Chapin Memorial Library does have wireless Internet access. Patrons with Chapin Memorial Library cards are eligible to use their own laptops without time limits; however, printing is not available when using this system.
